We offer a fully Accredited Sap Assessment procedure, recognised by Building Control, for the production of Sap Calculations for New Build dwellings, Conversions and Extensions.

What is a SAP?

SAP is the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for the Energy Rating of Dwellings.

Sap 2005 is used to demonstrate compliance with building regulations for dwellings - Part L.

Sap Ratings are given on a scale of 1 - 100, as part of the calculation the software will produce CO₂ emission rates for the building and will give Dwelling Emission Rate v Target Emission Rate totals.

Sap Calculations are mandatory for all New Build dwellings, as well as for change of use Conversions and "over glazed" Extensions.

To be able to complete SAP calculations we will need:

1. A set of drawings, with floor plans, elevations and sections.
2. Written specifications (if not detailed on drawings).
3. Completed questionnaire (if information not in drawings/specification).

If in the course of carrying out calculations we foresee any problems in achieving a pass, we will offer free advice and recommendations on overcoming any difficulties. Employing the services of a SAP Assessor at the design stage of a project can minimise unnecessary costs in attempting to achieve compliance once the project has been built.
